Cognitive inhibition🧠
Cognitive inhibition is an executive function refers to the mind’s ability to tune out stimuli that are irrelevant to the task at hand. Cognitive inhibition contributes to task performance by keeping task-irrelevant information from being maintained in working memory. The most consistent finding across all studies was the recruitment of the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex and inferior frontal gyrus during successful cognitive inhibition of craving.
